Project: Sulfur Processing

November 2, 2022

In 2010, a valve company here in Houston, TX, had been awarded a contract to supply valves for a sulfur process plant in Louisiana. In addition to all the standard valves that were needed, a large number were to be Fully Jacketed Ball and TOV valves. All the Ball Valves required 3M Dyneon 1600 TFM seat material and spiral 316SS/Graphite gaskets. Requirements for the BVs were consistent with a narrow temperature range for uniform thermal maintenance and maximum heat input for melt-out situations. The Triple Offset Valves were all carbon steel with 316SS trim.

When the job was done, over a hundred valves had been jacketed and we still to this day provide replacement valves to that plant for our customer.
